- Asthma and IPF related proteins
- We already reported that Gc protein (group-specific component) and MIF (Macrophage migration inhibitory factor) as candidate biomarker for asthma and nano particle induced inflammatory disease. In this research, we'd like to develop gene therapy method using Gc protein and MIF regulatory for asthma and particulate matter induced airway inflammation. Also, we'd like to analyze the exact function of these two genes in airway inflammation or asthma by using gene therapy system.

Protein biomarkers have become an actively studied area, in part, due to the recent rapid development of technology in proteomics. Although many challenges exist in sampling and analysis of serum, discovery of cancer biomarkers in the serum of cancer patients is a promising area. A variety of proteins and genetic markers have been investigated as lung cancer biomarker candidates; however, few are in clinical use and most still do not display sufficient specificity and sensitivity. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death,Currently, we had revealed the lung cancer specific 35 membrane proteins using four major histological types of lung cancer cells such as small cell lung cancer (SCLC), nonsmall-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). squamous cell carcinomas and adenocarcinoma. Among them, we choose 4 proteins for further validation. Our final goal are Development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic methods using these proteins.

- Other diseases related proteins
- Our main focus is to find the chronic disease related proteins. Fibrosis related diseases such as Idiotype pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) , Liver cirrhosis and even pterygium are our interesting diseases.
- And nowadays, we try to find out the responsible proteins in Parkinson's disease and stroke in coorperation with Dr Lee and Dr Bang.
